Green Township Fire & EMS had another record year in 2006, rolling out on 4492 emergency medical calls and 1728 fire calls, which arrives at an average of around 17 calls per day spread amongst our four stations. Station 55 in Monfort Heights remained the busiest, followed closely by Station 54 in Bridgetown. Calls for service in early 2007 are up considerably, so look for the above numbers to increase yet again.

The firefighters of Station 54 in Bridgetown / Mack welcomed a new 2006 Sutphen custom rescue engine. This truck replaces a 1986 model, and is quite an upgrade, with seating for six (staffed with 3 or 4), a 750 gallon water tank, new Holmatro rescue tools, and a nice array of lighting to make our night scenes safer. Please forgive our tardiness in posting this information. There is much to report. We think much of it is positive. However, some things have not changed (yet). Read On.
First of all, congratulations to former Fire Chief Robert J. Weitzel on his retirement after a long and successful career in the fire service. It is only through his leadership as Chief since 1974 that the Green Township Fire Department is as good as it is today.
After a long and intensive process, Lo...
